Yesterday was the Oxnard Christmas Parade and it was really a bittersweet experience. Despite the fact that we have a parade next Saturday (our last with our 2009 titles), we won't be going if it's raining so yesterday's parade has potential to be our final one. And Jill wasn't even there!

I woke up at 6:30 and got an allergy attack, which wasn't working in my favor. My eyes got all squinty, so we weren't able to get out of the house till 7:50 (the time we were supposed to be at the parking lot where we were meeting...) It wasn't bad though, cause we were actually the first ones there for a first! The dress I wore is actually one I got the night before from an ad I found on Crigslist! She was selling some dresses and lived in Moorpark, so my mom and I went over there and we got two gowns and a pair of shoes for $50. Good deal? I'd say so, especially considering the shoes I saw at Michelle D for $50+.

This parade was SO cold. Sosososososo cold. By the time it was over my hands were numb and I physically couldn't move my fingers. But it was worth it. Oxnard's annual parade was easily the biggest one we have ever been in and it was so gratifying to see the faces of the kids (both boys and girls) when we passed. Somehow the multiple announcers got the wrong paperwork and we kept being announced as the titleholders from 2008! I was Kovena for the day!

Afterwards, my parents, Nani and our friends Greg went roaming for someplace to eat and found this delicious place where I got a panini (yummm) and my dad and I split some soup. My tongue is still burnt from the hot chocolate I got to warm up!

Overall, it was a nice experience, I just really wish Jill had been there. She's my partner in crime with this whole pageant thing and it just feels so off when she's not around when I'm in my crown.
